Ducks Unlimited Canada Overview
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is a national, private, non-profit organization that conserves, restores and manages wetlands and their associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.
DUC's research shows that waterfowl that nest in winter cereals, such as winter wheat, have a much higher nest success that those nesting in spring-seeded crops. Winter wheat also benefits producers by providing improved financial returns, a higher yield than spring wheat, more efficient use of input and gains in efficiency.
Because of its importance to ducks and its value to producers, DUC is committed to working with producers to increase the number of acres of winter wheat grown across the prairies. DUC also maintains numerous partnerships and invests in ongoing research and development, promotion and production of winter wheat.
